Flying Geese Foundation Paper Piecing Patterns

Sizes Included: 1", 1 1/2", 2", 2 1/2", and 3" wide flying geese blocks.

The Flying Geese FPP pattern includes two different styles of flying geese: traditional and equilateral triangle. Each style of flying geese has five different size options: 1”, 1 1/2”, 2”, 2 1/2”, and 3” finished widths, and most block strips finish at 9" long. The flying geese strips can be used as they are printed, shortened by cutting off segments (just remember to keep a 1/4” seam allowance on the cut end!), or sewn onto the end of one another for longer strips.

These Flying Geese strips are great to use on a variety of projects: pouches, tote bags, mug rugs, pot holders, mini quilts, pillows, as borders around other blocks, etc. The photos show the 1" size Flying Geese pattern in both the Traditional and Equilateral Triangle options. Note: the Equilateral style options are not mathematically exact equilateral triangles because of 1/4” size increment restraints.

Basic knowledge of FPP is expected for this pattern, however the Flying Geese pattern is very simple and perfect for beginners! The pattern is labeled clearly and includes a 1/4" seam allowance.

Note: As with most other designers' FPP patterns, fabric cutting instructions are not included in my FPP Patterns. After all, one of the benefits of FPP is that you don't need to spend time accurately cutting out all the shapes! Instead, I take a scrap or snip off a piece of fabric that generously covers the segment I'm sewing and then trim off the excess after it's sewn on.
