Herringbone Heart paper pieced PDF quilt block pattern
Finished size options included in the pattern: 2" x 2", 4" x 4", and 6" x 6" quilt blocks.
The Herringbone Heart quilt block pattern is a scrap-friendly, beginner FPP pattern that assumes a basic knowledge of paper piecing. The pattern is clearly labeled, has colored graphics, and full size pattern pieces in three different block sizes (2", 4", and 6") with the 1/4" seam allowance included. The Herringbone Heart pattern also includes cutting instructions for those who prefer to precut their fabric.
The Herringbone Heart includes the quilt block pattern only, but it would be perfect finished as a mini quilt, mug rug, pillow cover, embellishment for the front of a card, or a panel piece for a pouch or tote bag. And the best part? You can finally use up all those precious, tiny scraps you've been hoarding! ;)
Note: The pillow shown was made using four of the 6" Herringbone Heart quilt blocks. The third photo shows Herringbone Hearts made by Holly from Maker Valley.
Note: As with most other designers' FPP patterns, fabric cutting instructions are not included in my FPP Patterns. After all, one of the benefits of FPP is that you don't need to spend time accurately cutting out all the shapes! Instead, I take a scrap or snip off a piece of fabric that generously covers the segment I'm sewing and then trim off the excess after it's sewn on.
